Qwikmix™ Tile Adhesive
Qwikmix™ Tile Adhesive is a polymer modified ready mix cement-based dry-set adhesive for thin-bed wall and floor tiling.
1. Mixing Procedure
- Mix products with the required amount of clean water.
- Mix thoroughly with a mechanical mixer until mixture is homogeneous.
- Allow mixture to stand for 10 minutes for the additives to dissolve.
- Mix again and the mortar is ready to use.
2. Application Procedure
- Ensure surface is clean, sound and level. Remove loose particles, grease and traces of foreign materials that may affect adhesion.
- Apply the mortar by pressing it firmly against the surface with a trowel.
- Spread the adhesive with the notched edge of trowel over an area that can be tiles within about 10 minutes.
- The tiles should be firmly pressed onto the sub-base and immediately knocked into position.
- To check the tiling works at the beginning of tiling, remove a tile and check the adhesive coverage on the back of tile.
- Care should be taken that the tiles are fixed in such a way that the whole backside is covered with fresh adhesive.
- For big tiles and tiles with high ridges, applying adhesive onto the substrate and back buttering the backside of tiles is recommended for best results.
- Adjustment of tiles is possible within 15 minutes after installation. Gaps for tile joints should be provided depending on the size of tiles used.
3. Storage & Packing
Qwikmix™ is delivered in 20Kg bags. Storage life is 6 months if product is kept in sheltered and dry place.
4. Tips
Ensure that the adhesive do not fill more than half the depth of the tile joints.
Do not soak tiles prior to tiling.
No further addition of water is allowed to unused adhesive that has exceeded its pot life or has begun to set.
